At the April 4 meeting of the Â鶹¹ú²úAV Board took action to approve a resolution in recognition of Adult Education Week, April 7-13, to highlight the importance of continuous learning beyond formal schooling and the value of education at all stages of life, promoting a culture of lifelong learning. The Board received an update on the District’s adult education programs. Adult education plays a crucial role in empowering individuals to acquire new skills, enhance their knowledge, and improve their overall quality of life. Adult Education has been part of the Â鶹¹ú²úAV’s public education program since 1872.
The Board received an update on the District’s efforts to prepare all students for college and career from representatives from the District’s College and Career Readiness Department, which oversees school counseling, career technical education, master scheduling, and college and career readiness initiatives. The District’s guiding principle is that all students are given an equal opportunity to graduate with the greatest number of postsecondary choices from the widest array of options.
The Board received an informational update on the District’s preparation for a potential November 2024 bond measure.
